Ah, yes. I must be reminded to post. What's going on in this head of mine?!
On Wednesday morning, I woke up at 4:46 AM (according to the news two hours later) and the ground was shaking. I freaked. They've been predicting that a gigantic, apocalyptic earthquake will hit Tokyo in the next five years and I assumed that this was the end. My mom and I sat up similtaneously and I worridly eyed the gigantic bookshelf/display case that looms over my futon in the living room. After about forty seconds of this demon shaking, the earth stood still, I took a wee, and went back to sleep.
After school that day, I went home on Monica's overly crowded bus, we watched a little bit of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (since she's never seen it before. What a sin!) and her mom force fed us Koren beef stirfry, which was good but really stuffing. We were driven to Roppongi and walked to the little venue where three of ASIJ's student bands were playing. The first band, Quite the Gentlemen, was four 10th graders who were a lot less professional than the other two bands but my favourite of the three. Their vocalist (who's in my biology class) is in thespians and sounds like a lounge singer. The second band was United Sounds who sounded like what I imagine Linkin Park or Slipknot to sound like (aka crap), so we went outside where Jen and Ray were waiting, just to talk to us. (How thoughtful of them!) The third band, Samurai River, was who most of the audience was there to see and when they started their set, I was pretty impressed. That is, until the vocals kicked in. The band itself is tres talented, but the vocalist needs some singing lessons; can you say tone deaf? All of the people there knew the lyrics and songs and it was quite frightening.
Ow, my brain. I'm going to stop here. No school today or tomorrow! (Hurrah!)
