So demanding!!

Let's see. First session of SDC ended fairly successfully. After our last day, Florence, Mia, Alekkusu, Park, Karlei, Wes, and I went to Kichijoji to check out the neighborhood and its thrift stores. On Saturday, the former six, plus many other SDC employees, went to an advanced screening of the Dark Knight (of which there were many. I'm not sure how or why, exactly.) It was better than I expected, which is saying something, since I had heard nothing negative since its American release and had been super-duper excited since watching the first teaser trailer. Heath Ledger's performance was, as noted by critics everywhere, incredible, but the acting was excellent all around. Jonathan Nolan–who wrote the source material for director Christopher Nolan's Memento and the script for The Prestige (which we rented, watched, and enjoyed [thoroughly] on Sunday)–did a spectacular job intertwining plot-lines, crafting powerful and believable dialogue, and making the story the best it could be. The action was awe inspiring. Batman and the Joker's interactions and interplay (mental, especially) was a great addition to both characters' pre-existing psychological messes. Mia and I talked about the movie all the way home, while getting ready to go to bed, and after waking up the next morning.

We are two days into the third week of SDC. My schedule is far fuller than it was last session, but since we're now more familiar with the projects and procedures, it shouldn't be too much harder. Maybe just a little more exhausting.

That's probably it, for now.
