This week's major mounds have been overcome. I had the first two major assignments due in both of my academic classes this week, so last weekend was hellishly busy. These assignments also revitalized my procrastination habits. I read a lot of political commentaries and watched a lot of videos of primary debate videos, interviews, etc. But now that the papers are completed, a pressure has been lifted and I've since done absolutely nothing.

Wow. Two weeks seems like an awfully long time when I try to remember what has happened between now and my last post. I can remember events since the most recent Friday. Makes me wish I did more memorable stuff and/or didn't have the brain capacity of a stegosaurus.

On Friday morning, I went to my 8:40 class and headed to the library directly after being dismissed to work on the assignment for that class (which I just handed in this morning). The task was not hard but it was certainly time consuming. For an annotated bibliography, we had to collect ten sources (scholarly/popular books/articles/websites) on one of four subjects. I chose Frank Capra and didn't end up leaving the library until 2:30. I also used microfilm for the first time, which was AWESOME. I'm glad no one else was in the room because I was clearly very excited.

Friday night was a bit of a shit show. The big concert of the semester, Girl Talk, was casting a great shadow on the early evening festivities. I started the night off with Joe, Tess, Sarah, and Liz. Once they decided to go elsewhere, I joined Olive and Hannah for dance and drinks. Unfortunately, we decided to go to the venue long before anything interesting happened. Before leaving the show in the middle of the opening act, rumors were spreading that Girl Talk wasn't going to be on until 11:00. So Raf, Kirby, Jack, and I headed to Scribner to hang out. We left for the concert shortly before eleven and I was in a good place, mentally... until it turned out that Girl Talk was only on for thirty more minutes after we arrived. (Ten of those I spent in the bathroom, waiting for an open stall and watching an unconscious girl getting wheeled out on a stretcher. Six ambulances on Friday. SIX!!!!) So naturally, I was pissed off. Even people who were there for the entire set agreed that the show was far too short for a well known headliner. I spent the rest of the evening with Joe, eating, bitching, and dancing in his room.

I woke up on Saturday surprisingly peppy and well. I went to work, came back to my room, and worked on my bibliography assignment for the rest of the day. I worked at the dining hall on Sunday as well, although the afternoon and evening were far less productive. On Sunday night, I realized that I hadn't started my history paper, which was due on Tuesday, so Monday was cram-time. The paper was completed, but not really to my liking. We'll see how that turns out.

I might be going up to a friend's cabin in Vermont this weekend with a group of folks. If not, I plan on playing tons of Blokus at Raf's house.

Oh, and I'm getting involved in the group, Skidmore for Obama. I applied to be a dorm captain, which means I'll go door to door in my building and ask people if they've registered, then remind them to vote. The group is also hosting phonebanks and fundraisers, and tabling a voter registration stand, so I'm going to try and do as much as I can to help.

Very excited for the first debates this Thursday and Friday. Also excited about the projector project Dad and I have planned for Thanksgiving break. So much excitement!! Can't contain myself!! [falls to pieces]
