I probably don't need to recap my winter vacation in detail, since most of the people who read this were there, but I'd like to say that I had a fabulous holiday relaxing and spending time with family. Michelle came from ol' PA, my grandma and aunt came from Colorado for a few days and my dad's cousin came down from Oregon for a week or so. Lots of knitting and watching movies went down (nee hee) and it was hard to go back to school the day after I got back to To-kee-yo.
Activities since I got back... I went to a shamisen concert with Mia on Friday night, which was really INTENSE but a lot of fun. After that, we went to visit a couple of friends of hers at a Persian restaurant. On Saturday, my aunt took Mia and I to Ryogoku for sumo; since she has always gone under her father's company name, she wasn't used to sitting in nosebleed seats in the very back, but that was enough to spark my interest, not only in sumo but in a specific rikishi (sumo wrestler). He's been my favourite for a while, but at the next bookstore I went to after going to the kokugikan, I bought two sumo magazines with him on the cover. Kotooshu is from Bulgaria and he's the first European rikishi to reach ozeki level. I've probably talked about him before... hm. In any case, I'm slightly obsessed and it's scaring me. But hey, I'm still a teenager. I'm excused.
Other than that, not much has been going on. I'm off to trim my hair for the first time in... ages. Maybe I'll have more to say when I get back.
EDIT: I was only going to get it cut and washed, but the lady decided to straighten it with a cosmetic iron for shits and giggles. It took an extra hour, but the fascinating effect was worthwhile.
It succumbs to gravity!!
(I also took a movie, but I doubt anyone's that interested in my hair...)
