I was cleaning my room after realizing that it was not a good thing that I had to clear a path to my bed every evening. I had so much time that I devised a new way to fold my socks. It's totally impractical, but there you have it. This is what I do with a pile of socks and lots of time.

Something else I realized after clearing out my room is that it's a disaster in terms of interior design. I know that sounds kind of Martha-Stewart-y of me, but the walls are yellow with random patches of white and I have two parallel futons running down the length of the room. I want some different furniture, but I have a feeling things are going to stay the way they are, seeing as my coming-home-from-Japan room has simply evolved into my coming-home-from-college room.

The wild fires in central Utah made our sunset red. It was pretty. The cat grooming is also progressing well. No more gigantic clumps of oily undercoat!
