I am long overdue for a post.

(I wonder how many posts I've started like that?)

The reason for my absence is laziness paired with the fact that nothing out-of-the-ordinary happened until a few days. Last weekend was full of all sorts of celebration. On Saturday, we had a combination of neighbors and colleagues over for outdoor dining and fire-pit fun. The excuse was a centennial celebration of our house's existence. It was built in 1907 and, as a result, has all sorts of problems that have waited a hundred years to be fixed. It was good to have contact with the world outside of our three-person household. I got a little crazy at times, so hopefully I can let these sociopathic tendencies out a little at a time before I scare everyone off at orientation.

Sunday was my birthday. I rose at noon and lazed around the house with my parents. I got a delightful card and we ate cake and ice cream after taking a very long walk. There have been a lot of those lately.

Today, I went to the driver's license division to take a test and get a permit. I passed with a whooping 98% and had my first practice drive this evening. I suck at turning. Hopefully practice will change that. The Cadillac is a boat so I'm blaming it for my inexperience and inability.
