Goodness. It's been a long time. My vacation in Japan was far too short and I didn't have regular internet access so... that's my excuse, I suppose. I did a lot of eating, knitting, and visiting over my two weeks in Tokyo. I visited school twice and, on both occasions, had entertaining conversations with Mr. Chambers. (During the first, he proposed that Stephen Hawking fakes his disability to avoid doing the dishes. During the second, the phrase "transsexual, quadriplegic, llama farmer" was used on more than two occasions.) Monica and I had tea and cake with Ms. Thomas and did all-night karaoke with Erica, Lowell, and Lui, which was exhausting but fun. Oh yes, and since sumo was in season, I went twice. In conclusion, two weeks seemed far to short to be in Tokyo. I've got too many places to go for a month to be enough time.

Classes have started and everything seems to be in good order. My Japanese sociology professor is hilarious; he starts laughing in the middle of statements and the entire class starts laughing and... it's a mess. My history professor looks a little like Jason Bateman and is incredibly critical of the east coast, complains about the weather, and is pretty entertaining as a result. Elementary French professor is appropriately doting and my art professor is wacky, flighty, and disorganized, but very nice and very fun to be in class with.

College is not conducive to recovering from jet-lag. I was hanging out with Tyler and Liz until midnight and, on the way back to my room, got pulled into Henry, John, and Jerry's and played Super Smash Melee until two in the morning... and then woke up at seven thirty without an alarm. Oh well. It'll be back to normal eventually.

Damn. I have a lot of reading for history that I should get a start on.
