The weekend was mostly unspectacular. I had to deal with a friend recovering from being broken up with after a three year relationship, which was pretty tragic. Among other things, I watched No Country for Old Men again, hung out with some freshmen who were in London first semester, watched a terrible movie called Absolute Zero, and did a lot of reading.

On Monday, I went to the first meeting of my Scribner Colloquia, Super Heroes to Anxiety Attacks, which is amazing! The professor, John Anzalone, is actually a professor of French but knows what he's talking about when it comes to comic books and their history. Since the course has no formal structure, we read material and (listen to him) talk about it. Very entertaining, enlightening, etc. What a pro.

The most exciting thing to report, hands down, is the news of my departure from this hellish triple that I have lived in since last August. My friend Hillary, who I met in Art History last semester and with whom I share more similarities than anyone I have ever met, was in a triple with two insane girls and had been begging Residential Life for a room change for over three months. Finally, they gave her an empty double and said that I could de-triple and move there as well. Things will be going down within the next week. I am so excited. While I won't be able to run into my pals as frequently (most of whom live in the same building as me right now), it'll be nice to meet new people and to have to make an effort to spend time with my friends from first semester.

So, that's the word. Work and school are going well. I'm constantly reading, which is very relaxing. I'm really glad I chose the classes I did. This semester, I think I have a total of four formal papers to write and mid-term and final exams in three of my five classes. Score!!
