Alrighty! It's spring break!! I can relax without worries... for a bit.
I had a free response essay test in US History last Friday, which was the final barrier between me and my nine-day spring vacation. From the questions that the teacher had set aside as potential essay topics, he chose the one that seemed to me like the easiest to answer. (Something about the differences between American expansion in the 1840s and 1890s...) I didn't have too many problems with it so I can only hope that I didn't screw it up royally.
On Saturday, Kikko and I went to our second kimono-wearing lesson. When we got home, we watched the second-to-last day of spring sumo and then went to sushi Nakamura for some delicious raw fish and fried bones. (The toro was so good, Mia... He's waiting for you to come this summer.) When we got home, we took our kimono-sensei's advice and reviewed the painstaking process before we forgot it overnight. It was relatively successful! We are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Our new goal is to go to a day of May sumo kimonofied. Very exciting!
When Mom and I arrived at the apartment, I took pictures of the portfolio pieces that I had brought home from school and printed out the first set of photos for my scholarship application to CCA. In the morning, I printed the rest, cut them out, and made a thumbnail sheet labeled with titles and media. All I have to do now is edit and print out the half-page essay and then send it off. (Pops, the registrar sent my transcript on Friday. Did I forward the email from Nena to you yet?) Hopefully, I'll get my bit sent by tomorrow. Also very exciting!
Something smells funny... *sniffs around* Hm.
Another exciting thing! I installed Virtual PC on the iMac and am currently in the process of downloading Typing of the Dead. I love that game so friggin' much. Looking forward to click-clacking some zombie ass.
I'm relieved every time I remind myself that I have no school tomorrow. Or the next day. Or the next.
Looking at these pictures I printed, I realize what a worthwhile buy my printer/scanner/copier was. Horray for Epson! Horray for advanced technology and smart computers! Horray for four separate CMYK cartridges!
Done.
EDIT: Not quite. Asashoryu won again! 16th time. He's a bit ridiculous, like I was saying before. Hakuho is being considered for ozeki, a well deserved position for the young chap and my favourite Koto-chan had a rough basho with an injured right knee and twisted ankle, but he made it through with his ozeki title. Good enough for me this time around...
DOUBLE EDIT: Here is a link to the pieces I sent to CCA. Mia, it seems my teacher has forgotten to email me the picture she took of my portrait, so I'll either nag her until she does or go and take one myself. Honestly (and unfortunately), it doesn't look too much different from the picture I took of it hanging off the bookshelf.
