Today on the bus, my sleazy and easy bus buddy, Alice, brought a male friend along. They were holding hands, so I could sense where things were going, but I expected some discretion, regardless. After the other monitor left at the first stop, I took over responsibility for the elementary school children in the front of the bus. A few minutes later, I looked back and they're all over each other. Tonsil hockey, cuddling: disastrous PDA!! (Scandalous!) The thing is, in the back seat, which reaches along the entire width of the bus, they could have hid behind a seat, but instead they made out in the center, where the children poking their heads into the aisle could see very clearly.
So, I says to them, I says "no PDAs on the bus! If you're going to do that, hide behind a chair." Sensibly, they stop. It registers that they've been seen and that they are not in private.
A minute or two later, I look back, and its worse than before. At this point, Madoka, the only other high school student riding the bus has joined me at the front and is fretting about the effect this might have on the wee ones. I go back and say, sternly, "there are little kids. I'm serious. If you're going to keep doing this, sit in a lower seat or move behind another chair." Giggles and smiles in return. I go back to the front, by the third time, there's really nothing we can do to stop this desperate madness. One little kid voiced concern to Madoka. "There's something going on back there."
For me, the punishment for PDA is embarrassment, so when they got off the bus together, I said in my best frightening, psycho-parent wail "you kids have fun, alright?"

Ahhhhhhhh. And she wonders why people call her a slut. Funny that she'd wonder, considering all of the experiences that she has told me about. Experiences, for the most part, that I didn't want to know about. Now there are a number of boys at school that I cannot look at the same way.
In any case, when we got off, Madoka and I stood around for a few moments and decided that we were hungry. We went to Makudonarudo, Mickey-Ds, Mac-dou, etc. and enjoyed apple pies and french fries over reactive conversation. The fries were hers, but they weren't just fries, they were Shaka Shaka Potato. That deserves an exclamation point. Shaka Shaka Potato! You put the freshly fried fries into a paper bag, add the provided powdered spices (barbecue, mustard or basil), close the bag, and shaka shaka until they are well covered. I had one of Madoka's. Crazy delicious.
I think that's all for today. QI is my favorite television panel show (with its radio parallel being Wait Wait Don't Tell Me) and House MD is getting incredibly emotional, but I love it as much as ever. Tomorrow is shamisen, followed by tonkatsu tonki. Huzzah!
