Well... alright. It hasn't been a week yet, but if it makes you people happy, here I am.

I just came back from watching Flags of Our Fathers, which was an excellently acted, excellently written, and excellently directed film. Through my auntie's company, we have received a few invitations to the premier of the Japanese half, Letters from Iwo Jima. While I'm a little bit worried that it will be difficult for me to understand everything without English subtitles, I trust that the message will get through without knowing the details.

In any case, good message put out by Clint Eastwood. There are no heroes in war and no one is really fighting for the country. It's nothing to be glorified. The horror. The horror. The horror.

Looking forward to seeing how the Japanese view is done. This is quite a nice approach to war movies, I think. Not good versus evil, heroes versus villains.

Let's see... what else has been going on? Ah. The reason I was able to go to see the movie midday on a Wednesday is because it's vacation time! Today was technically a "professional development day," but starting tomorrow, it is Thanksgiving holiday. I'm going to Iwate on Saturday and Sunday for tsugaru-shamisen, so I should really finish my weekend homework by Friday and do at least some college application stuff. Let's see how much I actually do and how much I just think about doing.

Oh man, am I sleepy. Time for an evening nap.
