This morning, after waking for breakfast, Cheryl and Grandma picked me up and we went to visit some of Saratoga's famous racetracks. The Saratoga Race Tracks were closed to the public but the Oklahoma track was open and active. A group of what sounded like Dubliners were running horses around the track and we watched for a while before deciding to move on to Saratoga Gaming and Racetrack, where harness racers were practicing and retired Saratogans were gambling. From there, we moved on to the Saratoga Spa State Park and eventually returned to the Skidmore dining hall.
After consuming a lunch of carbohydrates alone, I went to my art history lecture and promptly spaced out. Despite having had a solid ten and a half hours of sleep, the tortellini and salad made it impossible to stay completely awake. I kept waking up and finding words written on my notes that had no place there.
Since I didn't have the time to work on it in the morning, I did my art homework between classes and headed to Visual Concepts, where we had a nude model for gesture practice. It was a busy, highly productive, and incredibly fast three hours.
After getting back to my room to do some reading, I got up to go to the dining hall for food before having to work. At that moment, I got a call from Sarah, telling me that they were having a hair-cutting party for Tyler. When I got to their room, the trio were stealing all of Sarah and Tess' halloween decorations while their traumatized prospective student looked on. I had to go to work, so I bid them good luck and went to have a quick dinner.
I was put in the dish room, which is arguably my favorite place to be. The only trouble was that I was the only person washing during the after-dinner dish rush. Stuff was literally falling off the rotating shelves onto me. I had stacks and stacks of cups, dishes, bowls, and mugs filling the trough, making it impossible to clear any more from the shelves. Once the onslaught had petered off, they brought someone in to help me. (Hooray for terrible management!) I willingly stayed in the dish room for two hours and felt incredibly productive and pumped when 8:15 rolled around.
And here I am, getting ready to do my readings for tomorrow's classes. PRODUCTIVITY RULES!
