Work on Saturday sucked balls. Instead of the dining hall, we had to work at the Celebration Weekend BBQ, where supervisor premised a request to me and another Asian girl with the phrase "I don't know if you're related but..." It was upsetting. After that, I was moved to the Burgess Cafe, where I've never worked, and mostly just stood around and got in the way.

Once I was freed, I went shopping with Sarah and Tess in Sarah's aunt's soccer-mom van. We rushed through Target, the mall, and Bed Bath & Beyond. I got some necessary stuffs and some not-so-necessary stuffs. At the mall, I bought a nice button up shirt at half price and decided that I need more long-sleeved, button up shirts.

Cheryl and Pat finally made it to campus around eight and we went downtown, only to find that all restaurants were completely filled with visiting families. In the end, we got a free dinner at the dining hall, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Especially Cheryl. She got two full plates of food, a bowl of ice cream, and a piece of cake. After dinner, I showed them around a few places on campus and we went to the Big Top, a showcase of Skidmore dance and a cappella groups.

The fambly left for their hotel and I went to the Ad Libs show with my pals and a few of their parents. It was arguably the best of their shows so far this year. For the rest of the night, a group of us sat around in Taylor and Mike's room, playing what has become a popular activity for the weekends, "What the Hell Is Going On Tonight." Around one thirty, we went to the SPA, went back to the room, and sat around some more until it was deemed a good time to go to bed.

This morning, I went to work at eight and had a pretty good time doing all manner of silverware sorting, cheese stacking, oven wiping, and grape de-stemming. Around one o'clock, Cheryl and Pat picked me up to go to Lake George. It was creepy. The tourism there clearly hasn't evolved since the late seventies or early eighties and the outskirts of the town seemed like the set of a really bad horror movie. We spotted a really nice balcony overlooking the lake and decided to eat at the restaurant it was part of. Bad idea. The place was a bar that served gigantic portions of greasy food and had really bad service. Since it had taken so long to get our food, it was already three-thirty by the time we left the restaurant. I had to go back to campus to get some stuff accomplished so we left Lake George and its frightening themed hotels and mini golf courses.

At seven, the three of us went to dinner at the Wheatfields, a restaurant recommended to me by a friend. Since we were all still very full from dinner, we had appetizers instead of dinner. It was delicious and I consider tonight's tasting as a sort of preview for a day that I can actually eat a full meal there.

Cheryl got a little lost on the way back to campus but we managed to get back in one piece. (The driving has been a little scary.) I have to get some stuff done tonight so I can join them to see the racetracks tomorrow morning.

I got a cushion for my chair. My ass feels much better now.
