This weekend has been pretty productive and relaxed. Aside from the karaoke contest last night, there haven't been any events on campus, so the social activities consisted of a lot of low-key hanging out.

Since I irresponsibly missed work last weekend, I decided to get to sleep before one on Friday and Saturday night. As a result, my working experiences were surprisingly pleasant. On Saturday, I spent the first hour and a half mixing absurd amounts of pancake and waffle batter. The rest of my shifts were spent cutting lots of vegetables. This morning, with an already runny nose, I cut onions and my face was dripping everywhere. It was fun. I had a great conversation with Paul and Paul while taking nasty bits off chives. Despite how much time I've spent in the dining hall, I still have a lot of people whose names I don't know. Getting to know how to address people opens up worlds of familiarity and conversation.

I just got an email from the president of the Asian Cultural Awareness club, the cosponsor of the karaoke contest, informing me that Tess and I's rendition of Hot Chocolate's I Believe in Miracles won a $20 certificate to Sushi Thai restaurant. Wow. I just went to the SPA for a snack. Look at the reward for being hungry.

Very excited for Thanksgiving Break and getting away from the campus microcosm. Also seeing friends and Mia, getting away from academic obligations, and work in general. Hooblahhh!!
