This weekend was a school mandated Fun Weekend. I had fun. On Friday night, everyone went to the Ghostface Killah show, which was great. Unfortunately, most students at this school have listened to very little hip-hop that isn't Jay-Z or Kanye West; someone actually asked me, "is this good?" It was. I enjoyed myself quite a bit. I actually liked the opening act, Mr. Lif, more than the headliner. I had to work the next morning, so I hung out a little bit after the concert but went to sleep pretty early.
Work on Saturday was uneventful. I got out at twelve, at which point I had brunch with some late-waking boys, took a shower, and prepared myself for Fun Day. I was shocked at how much the organizers of this event knew about fun; there were fun houses, inflatable obstacle courses and slides, and free sno-cones, cotton candy, and popcorn. Everyone was on the green, enjoying the sun, and enjoying everyone's company. Since the party started around noon, most people were pretty spent by the late afternoon.
I went to dinner with Greg, where we met up with Raf and then headed back to their room to relax for a bit. Greg took an uninterruptible nap, I watched the sun set from their eleventh-floor window seat, and Raf looked things up on Wikipedia. Greg finally woke up and we decided to start our evening. Unfortunately, the festivities were crowded into the single room adjacent to theirs. Raf and I ended up watching Trigger Happy TV on the YouTube. I bid them goodnight when they decided to go to a birthday party and headed over to Tess' room. Everyone was pretty punchy, I was pretty tired, and I had to work again the following morning. It ended relatively early but, considering how early it started, I got a lot out of Fun Day.
After work today, I was working on a final project and was shocked to realize that I only have two days of classes left. There is still some stuff ahead of me; final project for Color, exam and essay for history, exams for French and Sociology, but an exciting vacation is looking closer every minute. YAY!
EDIT: I got pictures from Olive. Pictures from our trip to New York City (the week before Comic Con) start at the bottom of page one. Fun Day pictures are now here.
