Ah, what a beautiful two days. *sniffle*
On Sunday evening, Mia, mom, Kikko, and I waited for a phone call from Dad, who was allegedly on his way to Tokyo. During that time, I drew this lovely welcome sign:
Me? Overly proud of myself? Never...
We got the call and headed to the train station. I was soo happy (enough to spell "so" with two "o"s) to see him and Mia and I smothered him with hugs and kisses. We then proceeded to our personal favorite, Tonkatsu Tonki.
The five of us with an employee who has worked there forever.
Kikko split off and the remaining four of us continued on to the apartment. Mia and I decided to take my dad's beautiful new G4 Powerbook (drool) around the neighborhood to find a wi-fi signal to steal. We wandered for twenty minutes to no avail. When we got home, he went to plug it in and started laughing.
"What's so funny?"
"The airport card hasn't been turned on."
For the next twenty minutes, I shook my head in disbelief while watching a few segments of the Animatrix on his ridiculously fast computer with a high resolution screen. Beautiful stuff, and the backlit keyboard is a treat as well.
We all passed out with full stomachs. In the morning, I had to go to school, so Mom and Dad decided to come to the bus stop with me. They brought the camera. There is also a video. "Look! It's Saya getting on the bus!"
Parents. Gotta lov'em.
So, I went to school, was zonked in math class for no reason, slept on the way home, and was met by Mia at the bus stop. The rest of the crew was supposed to meet us eventually, but I ran off to buy some onion rings from our favorite Japanese fast food restaurant, Mos Burger. Yummy stuff for grease craving souls. (See?)
We went back to the grandpadres' house where everyone bummed around for a bit. Eventually, it was time for dinner. We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant, which, conveinently, is within walking distance. My grandpa's younger sister came along and we all stuffed ourselves with mutiple courses of delicious delicacies.
My nookular family made our way back to the apartment where Mia and I (with the airport card on) found a signal on the tenth floor. After looking at a few fun videos, we returned to the apartment and all passed out.
This morning, I woke happily at nine o'clock and we slowly tried to fit some plans together. Eventually, we decided to go to the museum I worked at last year to see this exhibition. Very cool exhibit.
At this point, we didn't have much time until we had to see Dad off, so we had some fast food noodles and got on a train to Nippori. We sat around on the train platform before his Narita bound train arrived. We took some cute pictures with Mom's cell phone but unfortunately, I can't send them because of her limited email minutes or something. Two minutes before he crossed over to the ticket area, we said our sad goodbyes and waved from the other side of the tracks. I missed him from the moment he left our sight. You better get down here for Christmas!! *shakes fist*
Yup, and I have to go to school tomorrow. Thumbs down!!
