Wednesday, November 3

Well, 2004 has proven to be as frightening an election as 2000. As of November 3rd, 7:59 PM, Tokyo time, the vote is ridiculously balanced with Bush at 254 electoral votes and Kerry at 252 votes. Unfortunately, America is going to prove again that it has problems counting and is going to re-count New Mexico, Ohio, and Iowa, taking at least another eleven days. Horray for democracy! :\

Anyway, for now, a quick revelation: Ohio is gold. With 32 total votes pending and 20 resting in the hands of Ohio, the candidate who wins Ohio will be the next president of the United States. Iowa and New Mexico, with a combined twelve votes, honestly don't mean shit to anyone, so a recount isn't necessary. No matter who gets them, the winner of Ohio will prevail. How scary. The next four years, a major make or break for the US seeing the state of the economy, education, and foreign relations, and the fact that it rests on one state is nerve wrecking. I'm really nervous about the outcome.

Go Kerry!

On a less controversial note, my lovely Padrino, who is going to be in Singapore for work, is going to stop in Tokyo for two days on layover between Singapore and the US of A. (YAY!) ASIJ counts this as a family emergency, so I'll be taking Tuesday off so the family can spend some quality time as a whole. It's been a while since this happened and will be again until he comes back for the holidays or something. I'm so happy!! I get to see my Daddy!

*dances*
