Excitement! I actually did something.

Our school is currently in the midst of a mid-winter holiday, a justified four-day weekend. School ended at 12:45 yesterday and Monica and I decided to take advantage. After taking our respective busses home and getting stuff ready, we met in Shibuya, walked to Harajuku, spent a few hours in Kiddy Land (dangerous place for victims of time loss), bought lots of useless crap in Gachapon machines, went to Condomania and Takeshita-doori and took the train to Monica's house. Her parents were off to a social, so they dropped us off in Roppongi in front of ZEST Cantina. I had Mexican food in Japan for the first time (nachos and jambalaya. Delicious!) and we walked back to her abode through the crazy party streets, making a brief stop at Don Quijote.

Once back, we watched SLiTHER, which was disgusting, distasteful and absolutely awesome. After finishing that, we watched some ATHF and Robot Chicken on Dailymotion. If you have time, watch an episode. If not, just watch from 4:10 to 7:16.

I started nodding off, so we turned in around midnight. I had a strange dream that our school had another run of One Act plays and... yeah. It was vivid and random. In the morning, we had some sweet breakfast (Pop Tarts and Cinnamon Toast Crunch) and left for Ueno to meet Florence. Our plan was to go to the Musee Dorse exhibit at the art gallery. We took a sequel to the "Saya and the Accordian Player" video before going into the museum (original and sequel) and were shocked to find that there was a twenty-five minute wait to get in, meaning it would be impossible to see anything past the seas of old Japanese people. We gave up.

I had realized earlier that my period might have started, so I rushed to the bathroom. Fortunately, I had come from a sleepover and had extra underwears. Unfortunately, I got caught in a Japanese style bathroom, flooded with pee. The strategic planning involved in such a feat is outstanding. It was terrible and exhausting. I got someone else's piss on my left pant leg. ASS. But overall, it was a success. Moving on...

Since we all agreed to skip the gallery, we decided to go to the zoo instead. Mo and I had never been to Ueno Zoo and I think it had been a long while for Florence as well. We had a fantastic time, making fun of animals and providing running commentary for their movements. We learned that the scientific name for the Western Lowland Gorilla is Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla and that some river otters like dropping rocks on themselves. Or at least one does. It was lovely. I remember having a phase during which I felt a little bad about zoos, but today I realized that I do love having at least a few of the world's animals locked up for our viewing pleasure.

After a very long time with the animals, we walked down to American Yokocho and had delicious Doner Kebabs. We each went our own ways home. I have had a very enjoyable weekend so far and there are still three days of it left. Rock! [Paper! Scissors!]
