Friday night, I watched Grindhouse, which was AWESOME. I liked Planet Terror a lot more than Death Proof, but Kurt Russel was pretty fantastic. The machine gun leg and Freddie Rodriguez were HOT.

After a bath and a late goodnight, I started my Saturday with some Battlestar Galactica. The time came to meet my aunt, grandma and housekeeper at the train station and head to Ryogoku for some sumo. Ever since my aunt's company bought season tickets to Tokyo sumo, she has been going frequently to entertain clients. The booth was unoccupied on Saturday, so we went as a fambly. It was fun. I might go again on Monday, which is senior skip day.

After the bouts were through, we went back to the house, had a small dinner and I rushed back to Meguro where Monica was waiting for me. Until prom was finished, we watched some South Park, watched a graphic fight scene in The Protector and wandered around the neighborhood. At around eleven, we met four of our prom-going friends and headed to Castillo, which I learned is the only worthwhile place in Roppongi. They play (primarily) '80s pop and dance music and take requests. We danced and danced and danced until two-ish and walked back to James' house for sleepin'. In the morning, we had hashed browns, eggs, bacon, and English muffins, talked about silly stuff, watched some Clone High and headed home. I took a much needed shower.

It was a lot of fun, and that's because mainly because I learned an important thing about dancing. I am a pretty ridiculous dancer, with all my moves being essentially knee-wobbly, side-to-side twisting or friendly seizure, but I usually get embarrassed and stop before really enjoying myself. However, I had watched an episode of The Show with Ze Frank earlier in the day. (This one.) He said that, essentially, "dancing is about moving your body so it feels good." Last night, I kept making silly excuses for dancing until I realized that being self-conscious about dancing is stoopid and not at all worthwhile. I got into a comfort bubble by zoning other people out but eventually, I managed to break out of my it without reviving fears of being uncool. It was nice. As a result, I got a lot of fun exercise.

Tomorrow, I plan on going to the Shinagawa aquarium. Hopefully it will be open.
