Last weekend was four days long to make up for the fact that we don't get a vacation for Golden Week. Hinako had proposed a trip to her house in Kyoto, so we took it. It was a fun and worthwhile journey. We went to various temples, ate lots of tasty food, roasted marshmallows, rode crowded busses, played Mario vs. Luigi and had an enjoyable time.
Here are two albums of pictures: 1 & 2.
I found Ouendan for over ¥1,000 cheaper than its market price and a second-hand Touch Panic for very cheap at a Kyoto electronics store. Ouendan is the best game EVAR. My hand is cramping up frequently. I need self-control or a cyborg arm.
Since we took the night bus to Kyoto, we left Shinjuku at around midnight and arrived in Kyoto at seven o'clock on Friday morning. I slept most of the way (wrapped up like a mummy, according to Hinako's account). On Friday, we visited Hinako's awesome aunt and uncle, wandered around, and had dinner with her mom. On Saturday, we rode a boat down a delightful river with Hinako's gynophobic cousin and, again, had dinner with her mom. After getting ready to sleep, we took to Monica's snack collection and roasted marshmallows in the toaster oven in the middle of the night. On Sunday, we went to Kiyomizu-dera and did some more exploring and wandering. The specifics are a little lost but there were lots of temples, shrines, and restaurants. Successful trip, overall.
Today was the deadline for all pieces of our AP Art portfolios. I am off the hook in that class, for the most part. We also had the second half of our European History mock, which wasn't too stressful. I got back the first half and apparently my response to the DBQ (document based question) was "the most commanding, authoritative and persuasive time analysis" my teacher has ever read. Lemme just slap some more butter on, for kicks. *ahem* "It is delightful in its scope, conceptual understanding, control of subject matter and fluency. It is flawless!!! Masterful analytical writing, Saya!!!"
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta. But real gangsta-ass niggas can't write fast.
I just read it again and came across the closing sentence of a body paragraph that simply said "A moderate view indeed." He underlined it three times and wrote "GOOD." I'm always worried when I include those kinds of sentences, so I'm a little confused now.
OKAY. TIME FOR BED.
