Happy Memorial Day.
Last night, Mia and I went to the Simpsons' residence for a little party in celebration for the class that Bridget is teaching for experiential week. We were the only ones to arrive even close to the beginning time and waited around, eating the meal we brought for everyone else. T-Rez and Aeb then arrived and later Clara came in. We mostly stood/sat around the kitchen and told stupid stories while Mia dozed off in the corner. It was quite fun.
This morning at 9:50-ish, my mother woke me to go watch the jazz band on the Diamond. We walked through the rain and got our heads blasted off by Meredith Byron's ridiculously high pitched "singing". After we had enough of that, we walked to the Red Giraffe where we said "Hello." to Bridget and then went back home.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast of eggs and salsa, bacon, and rice (fried in bacon grease!), we decided that, since the weather was so miserable and the Boalsburg Memorial Day scene was really dull, I would go to Man On Fire with Eli. We had planned to do this on Sunday, but plans failed. So, we went to Premeire. The movie that I expected to be meriocre at best was actually really good. The first half was drama, the second was sadistic violence (cutting off fingers, putting bombs into people's rectums, etc.), which is perhaps why I haven't heard much about it. People who enjoyed the first half vomited up their expensive popcorn in the second while the sadists left after the first twenty minutes. All of the acting was superb and the story was very interesting. I reccomend it to all of those dramatic sadists out there...
My chauffer (mom) drove us to Boalsburg, where stayed at the Boal Mansion for some fine, live entertainment, and Eli and my mom went to the carnival so he could play some games. I saw the Nightcrawlers, Old Boots, and North, all of whom delivered awesome sets. The equiptment seemed a bit screwey, as did the porch/stage set up, but it was free and enjoyable. I met new people and it was another excellent opportunity to run into old Boalsburg friends.
Noah: My pants keep falling down.
Saya: *does "keep pants up dance", then realizes that, to anyone other than theresa, she would look like a stupid moron and stops*
Noah: *laughs and backs into shadows to hike up pants*
So, yes. Now I am back in my abode, admiring the music of Modest Mouse, especially "The View".
Again, Happy day of memories and may they be happy and... memorable.
