Right as I said nothing interesting was happening, an ADVENTURE!
Today, Mom and I went to Shinjuku to accomplish a number of things.
1) Pick up my renewed passport.
2) Return some stuff to a store...
3) Check out the cord situation of my grandma's video camera. (For Mia, I'll get to that later...)
4) Buy a few pairs of the same jeans as I have now before they rot off my butt.
We first went to the government office and successfully picked up my new passport... although I signed my name wrong. Ho ho ho. After taking a long walk back to the station and into the department store, we returned what we needed to and then went to the electronics department to get advice on the video camera. I took the cord for the computer, but it turned out that it was just to connect the camera to a monitor... which means that there isn't anything to actually transfer information to the harddrive of a computer. Mia, I will investigate further.
So, as I went to look at scanners/printers/copiers, Mom said she'd go sit down. I agreed, picked up a pamphlet for the Epson Colorio series, and returned to where she was. She said she needed to go to the bathroom. We went and I waited outside of the stalls. After a fairly long time, she came out, said she couldn't walk, and stumbled into the wall.
Needless to say, I freaked.
I got her to put her arm over my shoulders and dragged her into the nearest store, HMV. She was conscious, but definitely not able to support her own weight. I was in a panic and therefore totally useless, so, in a daze, she asked the employee who rushed over if there was a room that she could lie down in. There was, but it was far away and she told us to sit on the mini-stage and wait for the security guards to come with a wheelchair.
After about ten minutes, a three-man entourage arrived and she was wheeled through the department store, through a back door, into a massive janitorial elevator and taken through towering shelves of baby towels and blankets. Deep in the bowels of the building was a cute little nurses' station and two rooms with hospital-style accommodation. Three beds were in each room, so the two of us slept for about an hour. After resting, she was back in good health and we went to eat a very late lunch on the next floor.
EXCITING STUFF.
Do not fret. She was perfectly alright on the way home and has gone to sleep fairly early to regain strength for another busy day. I may get her to go get a blood test sometime to see if she needs iron supplements or something of the sort.
