A bit of a delay, but I had a busy couple of days. My update is regarding a field trip that I went on to San Francisco, mainly to see that half of the CCA campus, but also to do some things for class. In the morning, we boarded our busses, where I promptly sat next to my illustration friend, Alex, and launched into conversations ranging from South Park to Star Wars to Alcatraz. 'Twas a good bus ride. I quite like Alex.

When we arrived, the classes split up and the graphic design kids went on a tour of the main building of the San Fran campus. It was apparently selected as one of the top ten eco-friendly buildings in the world a couple of years ago. It was good to see, considering the fact that I'd spend most of my college career there if I were to attend CCA. We listened to a lecture by one of the architecture professors as a big group (all of the design kids: industrial, interior, fashion, architecture, illustration, graphic, writing) and then split off for other specialized activities. Our class listened to a short lecture and had a question and answer session with professor and practicing designer, Charlie Denison. That's one thing to appreciate about CCA: most of the teachers aren't just washed up authors but are involved in the industry. His business card is really cool too...

I love the Simon & Garfunkle song, The Boxer. If they ever have it at karaoke, I need to do the harmonies. That's all I sing when I listen to it. Looking for the places only they would know... lai lai lai KRRSSSH ...

Dad, you were right to assume that Simmons' kid would be a bit of a skeez. Fortunately, there are a few girls here with little to no self respect, so I supposed it's tit for tat. (Ha. Tit. Play on words.) I asked him if he had heard the interview with Terry Gross and he said he hadn't. Blasphemy! It was a classic, no?

In any case, after the lectures, we got on the train to the Mission district, the predominantly Latino area of San Francisco. There are lots of murals and pieces of street art. I uploaded all of my photos to a school computer, so I'll be bringing them back on my iPod tomorrow and posting some, hopefully. It was fun to see a little bit of the city. We saw some scumbag Scientologists giving anonymous "stress tests" (anonymous in that the only things giving them away were the metal cylindrical grips and the L. Ron Hubbard books) while we rushed to our bus but I'd definitely love to see more of San Fran. I've gotten a potential invitation to see the new Superman movie at the IMAX theatre down there. Eh? Good deal? You betcha. And guess what? It's in 3D as well. Hell yes.

Supply and demand, I guess. Here is your supply. Leech off of it until your bellies are full with desire for more.
