Man! So much going on. Posting this often had become quite abnormal, but it is slowly regaining normality.
Saturday. My first Saturday. It started with curfew and the RA knocking on my door. I stayed up doing nothing in particular on the internet and then reading some of my fine, yet utterly depressing novel until I could empty my system of any remaining former foods that were willing to leave (mmm...) and go to sleep. It still took a while. Probably past two.
In the morning, I awoke at a reasonable time and did some more reading, surfing, etc. I then emerged from my room to watch the Germany/Portugal game (Horray for ze krauts!) and returned to start my summer history reading and think about some projects that will soon take over my life for the next three weeks.
No! I backtrack a bit. Is that okay? Okay. Before the game, I did some research on the movies playing in the area and found that (gasp) Thank You For Smoking was still playing in a little theatre way down the street. Since we can't leave campus in droves of less than three people (pardon the innaccurate use of vocabulary), I made a sign to recruit people who wanted to watch it. No responses came, so I went on a hunt and found myself two victims. At eight, the many students who had gone to Santa Cruz returned and we all made smoothies in the lounge area. I used that to my advantage, like a lioness attacking a herd of gazelles. Bah. Metaphor. We went to the movie and I must say, it was quite excellent. I really enjoyed it. Acting, plot, or screenplay aside, the visual experience was fabulous. On top of that, we can pile on what I previously put aside. Good stuff, especially considering it's a directoral debut.
I have the fig newtons I snuck into the theater stuck in my teeth. While I finish A Fish Called Wanda and wait for curfew, I shall groom the nooks and crannies with the versatile muscle that is the tongue. Goodnight.
